Keystone Introduces Bitcoin-Only Firmware Update

Keystone, previously known as Cobo Vault, has launched an updated Bitcoin-only firmware for their top-of-the-line model, the Keystone 3 Pro. The new version includes enhanced features such as support for Blue, Sparrow and Nunchuk, Taproot over Sparrow, viewing XPUB QR codes and Bitcoin Testnet, and passphrase support. One of the standout additions is Shamir Backup for increased security.

Respect for the community and open source codes

The company has listened to feedback from the Bitcoin community, resulting in significant software upgrades written in Rust to minimize bugs. The firmware code is also completely open source for transparency and user trust.

Key features of the Keystone 3 Pro

Security is a critical feature of the Keystone 3 Pro, which offers airtight operation, triple secure element chips and a self-destruct mechanism in case of tampering - all to protect private keys. It does not require native software for seed phrase creation, which is potentially vulnerable to private key extraction.

User-friendly improvements

Keystone CEO Lixin Liu also highlights improvements in the user interface, including a 4-inch color touchscreen, a fingerprint scanner for easy access and battery life that is far superior to their previous models.

Availability and price

Priced at $129, the Keystone 3 Pro is available on their website, Amazon, and Newegg. Keystone aims to provide an affordable, yet secure, and high-quality hardware wallet experience. More information and the new firmware are available to download online.
